Only in Las Vegas

Things you wont find anywhere else

Only in Las Vegas can you get used to a Sphinx so large, that the cars driving under it look like toys. Or the huge black glass pyramid behind it. Add in the brightest light in the world, and you begin to realize this is not your everyday town.

Next door to the pyramid is a large white castle, complete with towers and spires. Diagonally across from that is a huge emerald green building fronted by a giant lion ... the largest bronze sculpture in the U.S.

Across the street stands a copy of the New York City Skyline complete with A Statue of Liberty and a miniature Brooklyn Bridge. Only in Las Vegas, would a roller coaster run into, out of, and around the whole thing.

Thrill rides 1000 feet in the air, the Colosseum of ancient Rome, canals with gondolas, names like Circus Circus, Stratosphere and Treasure Island all tell me that the powers that be are doing more than looking at the bottom line. They're having fun!

Anywhere else, all this would be tacky, but in Vegas, a pirate ship just down the road from a volcano seems perfectly normal. It's all part of the city's draw. A giant fantasy where visitors can just relax and enjoy.

Of course, if you live in Las Vegas, you still have to deal with the real world, problems of everyday life, and persuading your mother-in-law that she'd be happier spending the winter in Florida.

That doesn't mean you can't enjoy the uniqueness of your chosen home town. In fact, that uniqueness is probably part of the reason you moved (or are planning a move) here. Face it, people who move to Las Vegas are not looking for anything bland, boring or blah.

I always smile when I look out my window in the morning, and see, through the tops of the palm trees, the Stratosphere tower, Treasure Island, and the curved bronze glass of the Wynn all framed by mountains in the background. It's like waking up in a dream every day, and I love it.

Things to See, things to Do, and things to Be only in Las Vegas

Here are some of the things you will see only in Las Vegas. (Well, ok, you might see some of them in other parts of Nevada.)

If you prefer to do more than just look, there are many things you can do in Las Vegas that you just can't do anywhere else.

For those even more ambitious, there are things you can be, and ways to be them in Las Vegas , that are just not available elsewhere.

Seeing, doing and being the unusual are some of the reasons we moved to Las Vegas.

I love this town.
